Given recent years‘ experience, the IMA reminds marketing authorisation holders (MAHs) to report medicine shortage to the IMA in a timely manner, as they are obliged to according to Icelandic legislation. This also applies to the upcoming summer vacation period.
A foreseen medicine shortage shall be reported with at least two months‘ notice, unless there are exceptional circumstances. If exceptional circumstances cause that a shortage is reported within a shorter timeframe, it is important to state the reason in the report.
