To MAHs: Important to report medicine shortage to IMA

Given recent years‘ experience, the IMA reminds marketing authorisation holders (MAHs) to report medicine shortage to the IMA in a timely manner, as they are obliged to according to Icelandic legislation. This also applies to the upcoming summer vacation period.

A foreseen medicine shortage shall be reported with at least two months‘ notice, unless there are exceptional circumstances. If exceptional circumstances cause that a shortage is reported within a shorter timeframe, it is important to state the reason in the report. The IMA requests that medicine shortage is reported online via „Minar sidur“. Should MAHs not have access to the online solution, this template can be used and sent to [email protected].
