The transition of the Icelandic Medicines Agency's website to island.is is largely complete. As of November 1, the website ima.is will no longer be updated. It is expected to remain accessible until the end of the year, but we encourage users to visit our new website on island.is for the latest information, there every page and article will be available in English as well as Icelandic.
There is no need to update subscriptions to the weekly newsletter, as news will continue to be delivered from the island.is website in the same manner as before.
We bid farewell to this website, which we are proud of and which has served us well, as we move into the future of Digital Iceland alongside other institutions.
Since the website lyfjastofnun.is was launched on October 30, 2020, a total of 1,256 news articles have been published in Icelandic. The month with the highest number of articles was June 2021, with 40 articles published, reflecting the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The most viewed article, however, was about reimbursement for weight management drugs Saxenda and Wegovy. Published in 2023, this article was viewed 24,082 times.
The number of subscribers to our newsletter, who receive weekly email updates summarizing the latest news, has steadily increased since the website was launched. Over the past two years, this number has remained around 620-630 subscribers per month. You can subscribe to the Icelandic Medicines Agency's newsletter by signing up for the mailing list.
Thank you for your company here, and see you on island.is.
