The IMA strongly advises Marketing Authorisation Holders (MAHs) to revise their SmPCs, PIL, and LAB documents by converting them from the outdated Microsoft Office file formats (e.g. doc, xls, ppt) to more current formats, such as docx, xlsx, or pptx, before submitting them.
Using outdated formats may pose security risks, and many National Competent Authorities (NCAs) no longer accept the old Microsoft Office file types, which have been outdated since version 2007 (e.g. doc, xls, ppt), or the newer file extensions (e.g. docm, xlsm, pptm).
Therefore, ensuring that the documents are in the recommended current formats (e.g. docx, xlsx or pptx) is essential for a smooth and secure submission process.
