The services that are mostly affected are as follows:
RMS Slot requests for applications via Decentralised Procedures
Requests submitted on or after, 20 July 2023, will be received on 8 August. The Icelandic Medicines Agency strives to answer requests within four weeks from submission but applicants may expect delays during the summer months.
Exemptions from Icelandic labelling
Requests submitted on or after, 20 July 2023, will be received on 8 August 2023, unless they are urgent.
Educational Materials
Educational materials submitted for review between 20 July – 7 August 2023, will be received on 8 August 2023.
Zero day procedures
Requests for zero day procedures submitted for review between 20 July – 7 August 2023, will be received on 8 August 2023.
Medical devices
Applications for licenses for clinical trials and functional studies of medical devices and changes to research plans will not be accepted between 11 July - 12 August 2023. Applications submitted during this period will be received after 15 August 2023.
Applications for certificates of a pharmaceutical products (CPP)
Applications are not accepted between 17 July - 8 August 2023. Last day for submitting applications before minimum service period is 14 July 2023.
Applications for importation of controlled substances
Applications for importation of controlled substances submitted between 20 July - 7 August 2023, will be received on 8 August 2023. Emergency matters will be handled as soon as possible.
Applications from pharmacy students for permission to perform limited duties of a pharmacist
Applications from pharmacy students for permission to perform limited duties of a pharmacist in a licenced pharmacy received on or after 20 July 2023 will be received on 8 August 2023. Urgent applications will be processed as soon as possible.
